What are you doing tonight?
Radio host on Galgalatz: What are you doing tonight?
Caller: Tonight?
Host: Yeah, tonight. This moment. What are you doing as soon as you hang up?
Caller: I just ran away from these girls from the south who came up to Tel-Aviv, and then I have to go to Sderot to pick up some cabs, now that the war is over...
Host: (cuts him off in the middle) So tell us about these girls!

Journalism
I don’t really know how I came to love journalism so much. It feels a bit strange thinking about how I’ve stumbled onto it. Freshmen year, I dabbled in internships at non-profits, NGOs, and a ministry, but I realized I really am not suited for such work. Come sophomore year, I for some reason began writing for Washington Square News. It’s funny that my first article was about...

Hey Kids
I’m sure nobody missed me, but just wanted to say that I’m sorry for being so negligent with my Tumblog these few days/weeks. Have been massively busy at work, and being lingually schizophrenic switching back and forth from English to Korean to Arabic to Hebrew to French. Taking an Arabic language class, an Arabic literature class, an Israeli literature class which involves a lot of...

caro: How to know that the boy who just texted you is drunk: when he sends a <4 instead of a <3.  Wasn’t there an ’80s one-hit wonder single called “Love Plus One?”

Name
So. I picked the name “Hyebin (혜빈)” for [redacted]. My mom and dad laughed at my choice. But, I think it’s a name that can be easily transliterated into Hebrew, Arabic and French: هيبن، היאבין, Hyébinne.

inkorea: WEATHER UPDATE: SOUTH KOREA This is the first time I’ve heard his voice. Blogs are a strange thing - you feel like you know the blogger that you’re following, as if you’ve been friends for years. You read their thoughts, their musings, their vents about a tough day. But you’ve never met them, seen their faces in person. You don’t know how their voice...

caro: The New York Times is getting hip to what the cool kids want to read. Reminds me of when I was on the tube in London and laughed every time the overhead recording said that the train was bound for Cockfosters. I think everyone could tell I was a stupid American.

How To Survive A New York Media Party
maryrambin: Click here for an oh so true account by Rachelle Hruska, founder of Guest of a Guest - my favorite NY Social blog My media circuit will not be in New York, but in the Middle East. Today’s meeting confirmed that fact.

Change
Me: Have I changed much since you saw me last?
[redacted]: You're more [redacted], more sensible, but you seem to now have often these moments, where a cloud of sadness seems to come over you. I don't know why - perhaps something had happened.

Awwww
jgh: Y’all probably already know this, but I just heard on the news that Barack’s vest and cummerbund are made from his grandma’s old dress today, so she could be with him even though she is no longer of this world. I can’t verify this right now, but if this is true - I am speechless.

I just finished watching Barack and Michelle’s first dance, while Beyonce serenades them with the song, ‘At Last.’ It’s unbelievable.

Where's Verizon's exclusive "iPhone killer"?
marco: AT&T has the iPhone. T-Mobile has the Android G1. Sprint will have the Palm Pre. Everyone has about the same BlackBerry crap. Is Verizon trying at all? Or are they still assuming that the quality of their handsets doesn’t matter? Update: Apparently the BlackBerry Storm is a Verizon exclusive. That didn’t work out so well. I’d call it more of a liability.
