South Korean Foreign Minister did not say anything that validated my early morning trek there.

Public advertisement for Durex condoms in Seoul’s subway. I am shocked that Korea is now progressive enough to openly advertise “such” products.

In Transit

Ninety percent of any drama in my life seems to take place on the subway or on some form of transportation. This is prescient, since I’ve spent a lot of time in transit. Today, I got on the subway thinking I was headed home. By the time I noticed what happened, I was almost equi-distance from the office to where I live - just in the opposite direction.

Ugh.

Currently 2 a.m. in Seoul

I’m snuggled under my covers, listening to the rain drops drum against my bedroom window. I’ve lived in a few rainy cities but these rain drops remind me of my sleepless rainy nights in typically Mediterranean Jerusalem. I stayed awake wondering what I’d find to write about when I woke up in the morning. Was it going to be settlements? Will I have to go into the West Bank? Could I finagle a trip down to Tel Aviv?

The long commutes fro and to my office in downtown Seoul have kept me drained and weary, desperate to fall asleep; I just plug out. I’ve missed having the luxury of a few moments alone with my thoughts.

The rain echoes the taps on my keyboard.
